A postcard from Pete Seeger!
Posted by: PKelly on Jul 17, 2006
About Us
|

It's almost a year later but I'm finally getting around to putting this up.
I've been a huge Pete Seeger fan all my life. More than a fan, Pete was one of my earliest musical and lifestyle influences. I learned songs from him that I still sing today and in some ways I also learned how to sing from him––with passion and love in your voice.
Back when I was finalizing my Sing-Along 2 CD I sent a demo CD off to Pete Seeger. The song I wanted him to hear was my recording of "If I Had A Hammer," which was written by Pete and fellow Weavers member, Lee Hayes. The song is known worldwide and a staple of sing-alongs, campfire gatherings and Scout troops. It's also been recorded by many well-known artists so I knew I was doing something rather daring by recording it myself.

Walking Oliver signs with NewSound Distribution in US!
Posted by: PKelly on Aug 17, 2007
About Us
|
We've got big news! We're now being distributed by NewSound Kids distribution, a subsidiary of Allegro Music. I think we've finally found just the right partnership for our brand of childrens' and family music and are very pleased that WO music CDs will soon be available in stores throughout the US.
Says Dot Rust of NewSound Kids––
"We at NewSound Distribution are very excited to be working with Walking Oliver Productions as their distribution partner in the U.S.
It’s such a pleasure working with Paul Austin Kelly, an artist of unparalleled talent in so many areas – singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, producer, and chief cook and bottle washer at Walking Oliver. I listen to a lot of new kids’ music every day, yet I return to Paul’s CDs as a sort of “mental floss” - a refreshing break from the often “same old, same old” that’s so pervasive in kids music right now. His music is of such high quality, so well produced, so inventive and so accessible to kids of all ages, I think it should be in everyone’s collection. We are working to see that happen here at NewSound and so we’re looking forward to a long and successful partnership with Paul and Walking Oliver!"
Man! How cool is that?
We're looking forward to it, too, Dot! Thanks!!
Paul

Happy Thanksgiving from the Walking Oliver family!
Posted by: PKelly on Nov 24, 2007
About Us
|

We at Walking Oliver want to wish everyone the happiest of Thanksgivings. We had the pleasure of having Thanksgiving dinner with our relatives from LA who were happily staying in London for 2 months. They're heading back home this weekend and we'll miss them. We're thankful that we had them here with us as long as we did.
We wish everyone with family around them closeness and peace. And everyone without family, we wish you the company of good friends during this holiday weekend.
God bless,

Meet Zeke! The newest member of the WO family!
Posted by: PKelly on Feb 16, 2008
About Us
|

Meet the newest member of the Walking Oliver family––Zeke, the Spaniel-Collie. He's 18 months old and a rescue dog from a nearby dog trust. Zeke is short for Ezekiel and most people in England are not familiar with the shortened version of the name!
He's been with us for a year already so please forgive me for not introducing him to you sooner. He's become such a close part of the family now, though, that I can't put it off any longer.
He and Oliver get along splendidly, except when Zeke steals Oliver's bed, or drags him around by his collar when I've forgotten to take it off, or jumps into the watering trough to bathe when Oliver is trying to get a drink!
As always, Oliver is very tolerant of Zeke's puppy ways. He gives a deep sigh, lies down and tries to forget about it.
Zeke may start making appearances on upcoming Walking Oliver CDs, so keep a sharp lookout!
Oh, No! Does this mean we'll have to change our name to Walking Oliver & Zeke?
