Tenor Paul Austin Kelly makes his Opera Holland Park debut in London on June 8th 2005 in Bellini’s La Sonnambula, the first-ever new production at Opera Holland Park.

“Attractive and intriguing casting, of which acquiring Paul Austin Kelly to sing Bellini’s Elvino is perhaps this season’s coup.” (“Opera” magazine: Festivals 2005 edition)

Tenor Paul Austin Kelly will make his Opera Holland Park debut on June 8, 2005 in the role of Elvino in Bellini’s La Sonnambula opposite soprano Linda Richardson as Amina. The premiere also marks the first-ever new production for Opera Holland Park. With Brad Cohen conducting the City of London Sinfonia and Opera Holland Park Chorus, additional performances take place June 10, 14, 16, 18, 21, 23 & 25 at the Opera Holland Park

Theatre in London.

An American now celebrating his first decade of living in England, Paul Austin Kelly recently thrilled British audiences singing Britten’s Les Illuminations with the Ten Tors Orchestra for his critically acclaimed Plymouth debut:

“Paul Austin Kelly, was a spectacular soloist in Britten’s ‘Les Illuminations’ where his operatic pedigree was perfect for the often flamboyant French text.” (Philip R. Buttall, Plymouth Evening Herald)

Mr. Kelly’s recent operatic successes include his debut engagement at the famed Concertgebouw hall in the Netherlands where he sang in a concert performance of Verdi’s Jerusalem. A featured artist on the Opera Rara label, Mr. Kelly’s discography includes the Rossini Three Tenors and Donizetti’s La Romanzesca e l’uomo nero. He can also be heard on the Decca label’s Rossini: The Cantatas Vol.1 conducted by Riccardo Chailly. Upcoming releases for Paul Austin Kelly with Opera Rara are scheduled in 2005 and 2006.

When not singing opera, Paul Austin Kelly leads a unique parallel career as a performer of music for children. He is the founder of Walking Oliver, an innovative and award-winning children’s music label. Walking Oliver’s CD catalogue includes Unleashed on British Isles, a selection of traditional British folk songs; Through Tenderwood, a refreshing interpretation of nursery rhyme songs that mirrors a child’s journey from daylight into night and back again.
