Singing in Amsterdam

Hi All,
I've just returned from a great trip to Amsterdam. I've never been to Holland before. It was a real kick to see that the city still has many of the unusual features that have made it famous over the years. The canals and the trams and trees and flowers, as well as the gorgeous architecture were all thrilling to see.
I was only there for a week, and since I was there on business singing a concert at the Concert-Gebouw theatre, I didn't have time for very much sightseeing. The great Concert-Gebouw theatre was an experience in itself, though. Seating nearly 1800 people, the theatre was completely full for the performance I was involved in yesterday. It was a rare performance of an opera by Guiseppe Verdi called Jerusalem. I only sang a small role in this opera so I was more relaxed than ususal, and not very nervous. I sang well and the audience was very appreciative. But when we all came out for our final bows, I thought the audience would lift the roof off that theatre. They actually roared! For a few minutes I had a glimpse of how the Beatles must have felt when they performed live. Promise me the next time you listen to a Walking Oliver CD you roar at the end of each song, okay? Great!
More soon! Keep listening!
Paul
