Walking Oliver has just completed negotiations with the highly esteemed London music publisher Boosey & Hawkes [1].

The first project is a songbook and CD package aimed at the educational market. This first book is expected to contain 11 songs all composed and arranged by Walking Oliver director Paul Austin Kelly [2].

The accompanying CD will contain both full versions of the songs and backing tracks (instrumental minus vocals) for schools to use –––

––– in the classroom or in school concerts and assemblies.

The songbook will have both lead sheets, containing only a melody lines, lyrics and guitar or piano chords, and full piano/voice arrangements.

Famed UK children’s book illustrator Korky Paul [3] is expected to create the artwork for the songbook.

Titled “Where Did the Dinosaurs Go?” the songbook focuses on environmental and social issues of interest to primary schools in the UK and Ireland, as well as the US and Australian markets.

As an accompanying release, Walking Oliver will produce a version of the CD and release it under its own label to be distributed via the Walking Oliver website, internet download sites and UK shops. The Walking Oliver CD will contain all of the songs from the Boosey & Hawkes release plus several exclusive bonus tracks.

“Where Did the Dinosaurs Go?” is scheduled for release in September of 2006.
